Phonics- We will continue to practice long vowels. Here are the rules to follow to help your child at home.

Rule #1-When there are two vowels in a word the first one says its long name and the second vowel is silent.
Here is how we mark the words.

Rule #2- When there is one vowel at the end of a word it says its long name. For example, go, me, she, he and we.


Handwriting- We will continue to learn cursive capital letters and write sentences.


Math- We will come close to finishing chapter 6. We will cover capacities, hot and cold, penny and nickel amounts. Monday we will finish the chapter with a lesson on dimes! If you are interested in having extra worksheets for your child to do at home, let me know. I can give you extra practice sheets.



Science- Seeds and Parts of a Plant

Class Work/Homework Schedule

Here is a list of the class work that your child will be doing each day. If they do not complete the work, it will be sent home as homework. There is only OFFICAL Reading homework each Tuesday and Thursday. Everything else sent home will be uncompleted class work. (Science papers do not need to be returned).


Tuesday-
Phonics: Pages 117-118
Handwriting: Pages 105-106
Math: Hands On-no worksheet
Reading: Read for 20 minutes. You DO NOT have to return the books with stickers on them! Please return the other readers.

Wednesday-
Phonics: Page 119 and 121
Handwriting: Pages 107-108
Math: F25-F26

Thursday-
Phonics: Pages 122
Handwriting: Pages 109-110
Math: F27-F28
Reading: Read for 20 minutes.

Friday-
Phonics: 123-124
Handwriting: 111-112
Math: F29-F30


Reminders/Notes

Miss Taylor- Has been absent from work due to inflammatory bowel disease. She will receive further testing this week to get a proper diagnosis. At the earliest, she will be back at the end of this week. Please keep Amanda in your prayers.

*Rainbow Sight Words- Please practice the rainbow sight words with your child! If you lose your list, please check the blog. They are posted! These sight words are going to last us for the rest of the school year. Don’t feel like you have to make your child learn one row a week; that may be too excessive!
